Dr. Scott Powell, MD

Is a graduate of UTMB medical school. He did a five-year surgical residency at the University of Florida, and is a board certified general surgeon. He has practiced in Texas since 2003, and since 2011 has specialized in the treatment of venous disorders.

He is one of the most experienced physicians in Texas that treats venous disease. He was one of the first in DFW to use VenasealTM (a new super glue for veins), and he is still one of the few to offer this service. Dr. Powell has taught colleges and peers about venous disease in national conferences and has served as a physician trainer. If you are looking for an expert in venous disease, look no further.

Dr. Aaron Chance, MD

Aaron B. Chance, MD, is a dedicated physician specializing in venous insufficiency. A graduate of the McGovern Medical School in Houston, he trained under Dr. Scott Powell, a leading expert in venous care. As Medical Director of Texas Vein Experts in Houston, Dr. Chance provides minimally invasive treatments that enhance comfort, mobility, and quality of life with minimal downtime.

Dr. Haider Burney, MD

Serving Frisco, Waxahachie, Grand Prairie & Burleson

Haider Burney, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with a strong background in both hospital medicine and wound care. He earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua and completed his residency at One Brooklyn Health System in New York, where he also served as an Assistant Program Director in the Department of Internal Medicine.

With experience treating complex conditions—including diabetic ulcers, pressure wounds, and vascular-related skin issues—Dr. Burney brings a comprehensive and compassionate approach to patient care. At Texas Vein Experts, he specializes in diagnosing and treating venous insufficiency, helping patients improve their vascular health through minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Burney is committed to delivering personalized, results-driven care that supports long-term health and well-being to our patients in Frisco and Waxahachie.

Pavel Valdes, MD

Serving San Antonio

Pavel Valdes, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with extensive experience in clinical medicine, neurophysiology, and medical research. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of Pinar del Rio and the University of Havana in Cuba before completing a residency in clinical neurophysiology at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Havana. Dr. Valdes later completed internal medicine training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, where he received recognition for his academic performance and clinical excellence.

Throughout his career, Dr. Valdes has earned numerous academic honors and contributed to neurological research, including studies focused on visual evoked potentials and optic neuropathy. He is a member of the American Medical Association and is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. At Texas Vein Experts, Dr. Valdes works closely with patients to diagnose and treat venous disease, helping them achieve better vascular health and improved quality of life.

Diana Perez

Diana Perez, PA-C, MMS

Diana Perez has been practicing as a Physician Assistant since 2007, with experience across multiple areas of medicine. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a Master of Medical Science from Nova Southeastern University.

She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Diana is excited to join Texas Vein Experts and help patients with venous disease while continuing to expand her expertise in this specialized field.

Justin Patten, MPAS, PA-C

Is a graduate of Texas A&M University and UNT Health Science Center where he earned a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Since graduating in 2014, he has specialized in orthopedic pain management and, more importantly, the treatment of venous insufficiency.

In early 2017, he joined Texas Vein Experts. Since then Justin has immersed himself in the world of venous disease and has quickly become one of the more experienced PA’s in north Texas who treat venous disease. He gives full focus and attention to his patients and their outcomes are incredible.

Megan Mongeau, FNP

Megan Mongeau is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University. She has worked in the healthcare field for nearly 10 years now, and being able to care for people is her true passion. Since graduating she has found a passion for treating underlying medical issues related to venous insufficiency. Megan looks forward to delivering high quality compassionate care to patients of Texas Vein Experts.

Jesus Irsula, FNP-C, FNP-BC

Jesus Irsula earned his Doctor en Medicina degree in Havana, Cuba, before transitioning to nursing in the U.S. He completed his Master’s in Family Medicine in 2022 and holds dual board certifications in his field. With experience in pediatric care, weight loss management, and family medicine, he now specializes in venous insufficiency treatment at Texas Vein Experts. Jesus is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-focused care, helping patients improve their circulatory health and overall well-being.

Rachell Sullivan, FNP-BC

Rachell Sullivan is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong commitment to patient care and community health. She graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she laid the foundation for her impressive career in nursing. With thirteen years of rich experience at the bedside, Rachell specialized in various women’s health disciplines, providing compassionate and dedicated care to her patients. Her passion for nursing and desire to make a difference led her to pursue a master’s degree, after which she transitioned into the field of vein care. For the past five years, Rachell has focused on her work in vein health, where she combines her extensive nursing background with her specialized expertise. Her enthusiasm for helping others and her dedication to her profession continue to drive her success in the healthcare field. Rachell remains committed to enhancing the well-being of her patients through education and innovative care solutions.

Amy McEvoy, ANP-C

With a 30-year career in health care, she brings extensive experience in
heart and vascular services and wound care, guided by a deep commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care and servant-hearted leadership. A Denton County resident, she is a Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoys gardening, camping, and fly fishing.
