Melissa has experienced substantial residential growth, but vein disease remains a problem that can be overlooked until symptoms begin interfering with work, exercise, sleep, or daily mobility. Visible veins, recurring swelling, heaviness, aching, itching, cramps, and skin changes can all be reasons to investigate the circulation in the legs.
Melissa reached an estimated 29,969 residents in 2025, up 115.6% from its 2020 population base. Approximately 20,769 residents are adults. Applying published adult prevalence estimates suggests that about 4,985 adults may have visible varicose veins and roughly 1,246 may show evidence of advanced chronic venous disease.

ClosureFast radiofrequency ablation, VenaSeal, and Varithena microfoam can be used for different types of unhealthy veins. Compounded sclerotherapy can target selected spider veins and smaller surface veins. The exact plan depends on the anatomy, symptoms, ultrasound findings, and medical history.

He earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua and completed his residency at One Brooklyn Health System in New York, where he also served as an Assistant Program Director in the Department of Internal Medicine.

Texas Vein Experts serves Melissa residents from its Frisco clinic at 12530 Lebanon Road, Suite 207. The clinic evaluates varicose veins, spider veins, venous reflux, swelling, and chronic venous insufficiency.
Spider veins can develop because of genetics, aging, hormonal changes, pregnancy, or increased pressure within the veins. They may appear alone or alongside larger varicose veins and deeper venous reflux.
Sclerotherapy is commonly used for selected spider veins. When a patient also has swelling, heaviness, or larger varicose veins, ultrasound may be used first to determine whether deeper reflux should be addressed.
Varicose veins caused by weakened valves generally do not permanently disappear on their own. Movement, elevation, and compression may improve symptoms but do not repair the damaged valve.
Compression stockings may temporarily reduce swelling, aching, and heaviness by supporting circulation while they are worn. They do not permanently close an unhealthy refluxing vein.
Texas Vein Experts offers same-day onsite ultrasound and results as part of the diagnostic process when ultrasound is needed. The findings help the provider build an individualized treatment plan.
Many minimally invasive procedures involve little to no downtime, and many patients return to normal daily activities the same day. Specific recovery instructions depend on the treatment performed.
